Our Board
We couldn’t do this without you.
We are so grateful for our board. Although Home for Freedom is a non-profit, and consists of volunteers, we still have to run our organization smoothly, so our veterans will benefit. While volunteers are out serving in the field, through construction, home repair, cemetery upkeep, etc., our volunteer board sponsors are behind the scenes, taking care of Home for Freedom’s many needs. We could not exist without them, and we thank them! They take this job seriously, and volunteer their time and service out of concern for our veterans.
Lisa Lothenore – Chairman

Home For Freedom is a God given passion for our Texoma Veterans!! We will bring honor and dignity to the disabled and forgotten Veterans that they so deserve.
Kenny Reynolds – Vice Chairman

My name is Kenny Reynolds. Having spent time in Vietnam and having many brothers that were there, I couldn’t help but have a huge heart for Veterans. I have seen many brothers laid to rest, and I have seen many brothers struggling to survive with mental, physical and financial difficulties. I know many of them have continually struggled to get help (myself included.) Home for Freedom is a way to help and support our Veterans at home.
Martha (Martie) Stivers – Treasurer
Retired Command Chief Master Sergeant Robert Stivers – Board Member

Our names are Bob and Martie Stivers. Martie and I served in the United States Air Force for 30 years. After retiring, we were introduced to Home For Freedom. We knew this was a place where we could give back to show our support for what we received while serving. Home For Freedom’s mission to provide renewed respect and appreciation to military veterans really impressed Martie and I. All our Veterans deserve the respect and appreciation for the sacrifices they made for this great country. For us, doing nothing is not acceptable. Martie and I see the need and are proud to do our part by serving with Home For Freedom.
Chief Master Sergeant (Retired) Christine (CK) Knudson – Board Member

I retired from the USAF in February 2018 after 28 years, gaining experience in multiple career fields and leading diverse teams. Throughout my service and retirement, I’ve volunteered with organizations supporting orphans, the homeless, and those struggling with addiction. My passion for serving others stems from gratitude for my own blessings. For the past year, I’ve served with Home for Freedom, working alongside a committed Board of Directors to help Veterans. My belief in dignity and second chances motivates my work building tiny homes for Veterans in need, and I am proud to contribute to this mission and team dedicated to real, impactful change.
Mark Krotzer – Board Member
I joined the U.S. Army and served for almost ten years. Injuries and the effects of war changed the path I expected, and my time in the Army ended sooner than planned. I later served 17 years as a firefighter with Sheppard AFB and the surrounding communities. I joined Home for Freedom because I’ve been through hard seasons too, and I want other veterans to know they’re not alone, and that life after service can still be full of hope and purpose.
Jeanne Moore-Daniels – Board Member

My name is Jeanne Moore-Daniels. My family has a long military history! My dad was stationed at Sheppard AFB back in the 1940’s, when it was actually an Army Air Corps base named Sheppard Field. I had the honor of being born in that hospital! Both of my brothers served our country; one in the Navy, and one in the Army. My husband is an Army veteran who served in Vietnam. Our son retired from the Army after 24 years of service. So, you can see why I consider being a part of Home for Freedom a privilege and a blessing!
Stephanie Scheffe – Board Member
My name is Stephanie Scheffe. I retired from Social Security in September 2025 with 25 years of service. During that time, I spoke to many disabled and elderly veteran’s and saw a great need in the Veteran community. In 2025 I graduated from Leadership Wichita Falls, and it was during a non-profit showcase I attended through that class that I learned about Home for Freedom. I was instantly inspired by what this organization is doing, and I am so excited to be joining the mission.
Chelee Wilds – Board Member
My dad retired from the Air Force here at Sheppard AFB. The youngest of seven, I was born and raised in the SAFB/Wichita Falls/Burkburnett communities. I grew up working in my parents’ insurance office. Now I am the Manager of Texas Plan Operations at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. I started my career there in March of 1998 when their doors opened here in Wichita Falls. I am the proud wife of Todd Wilds, USAF MSgt Ret. We love spending our free time with our families, supporting our nieces and nephews, and with our two pups, Lucy and Desi, who rescued us. Over the years, my passion for volunteering and for helping others has only strengthened. When I’m not working or cheering on my nieces and nephews at sporting events, I spend my time volunteering. I am a Leadership of Wichita Falls Class of 2025 graduate. Home for Freedom is very near and dear to my heart, as our focus is on veterans in our community and assisting them in improving their lives. Some of the other nonprofits I’m dedicated to are the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Greater Texoma, WF Streams and Valleys/Hotter’N Hell Hundred, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Beacon Lighthouse for the Blind, Camp Fire, and the WF Area Food Bank.
Sarah Wood – Board Member
I am Sarah Wood and I proudly identify as a military brat. My father was a Navy Chief Petty Officer for 26 years, so we lived in a variety of places. I believe patriotism, fairness, and integrity are what we should value and show to our active and retired veterans. So when Lisa shared about HFF and its vision, I wanted to be a part of it to help witness God’s way to recognize and honor our buried soldiers and disabled vets in Wichita Falls. I am proud to be asked to be a part of the board and to build up and recognize veterans and help meet their needs.
Andy Zeigler – Board Member
Hi, I’m Andy Zeigler, RN, BSN, MPH. I’m the Director of Patient Support and have worked at United Regional for 25 years. I proudly served six years in the U.S. Air Force in communications and computer maintenance, which continues to shape my passion for helping veterans and their families access the support and resources they need to better their lives. My wife Lana and I have been married for 36 years. Outside of work, we love the outdoors—gardening, camping, and hiking—we stay busy with our two chocolate labs, Maggie and Hank. I’m very excited to be a part of Home for Freedom and the projects they are working on to improve the lives of our veterans.
Jim Presley – Board Member In Memory

My name is Jim Presley. At first, I volunteered to help with the launch of Home for Freedom because I had a connection with a band that I thought would give a free concert to help kick things off. After I went to our first planning meeting and listened to Lisa’s vision, I wanted to do whatever I could to help honor our Veterans. I’m a 30-year veteran of the Air Force myself, and have seen some of the hardships our men and women of the military endure, especially those who have sustained major injuries and are now unemployable. Many people empathize, but few will step up to help. We want to step up. We want to provide a fully furnished home, free and clear to a deserving veteran. Then we want to do the same for another and another, so each will have a Home for Freedom!
