Who We Are
We exist to support and honor our veterans, both living and those who gave their lives.
We exist to support and honor our veterans, both living and those who gave their lives. We believe freedom is not free, and because of their sacrifice, our men and women in the Armed Forces should be taken care of, in every aspect, when they return home. We rely on monetary donations, as well as time and service of others, to make things happen.
We do things such as home restoration, repairs, and building. Imagine coming home, possibly disabled, and home is no longer a place that is safe to live in? We help our veterans find jobs, because of all the people in our country, someone who has fought for our freedom, should never come home only to no longer have a paycheck. We want to create a world where a veteran never has to choose between groceries and proper medical care, especially for injuries received while protecting us.
At Home for Freedom, we believe in respecting our beloved veterans whose lives have been lost. We can honor those vets by taking great care of their gravesites. A simple act of generosity like this, can mean the world to the loved ones left behind.
When you think of your skills, and areas of expertise, you may find you are very able to help in many areas of Home for Freedom. You do not have to be a veteran to volunteer with Home for Freedom. You just have to have a heart for service, and care about what happens to our veterans. And please remember, volunteers make all of this possible. If you have a heart for veterans, and believe they deserve respect, honor, and gratitude, consider becoming a volunteer, or donating to Home for Freedom.
We believe it is important to put a face to a name, and understand that Home for Freedom is made up of real people, just like you, who love our great country, and support our amazing veterans and armed forces. Please allow us to introduce ourselves!
Located in Wichita Falls, home to Sheppard Air Force Base, Home for Freedom families are able to witness first hand, the often devastating effects on soldiers returning home, and their families here waiting for them. Reunions are not always happy ones, as veterans come home often changed physically, or emotionally. Worse yet, some don’t come home at all, leaving spouses and children confused, wondering what they will do without them, as the rest of the world carries on. We have seen the tears, the concerns, and the broken hearts, as mothers and fathers, children, spouses, and friends look for answers as to why their lives have suddenly changed. Veterans and their families need a place to turn. We strive to be that place.
Home for Freedom is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization created for our veterans, and run by people whose hearts are extremely grateful for their sacrifice. We are members of the Wichita Falls community, volunteering our time for this important service. We do not receive a paycheck for our work at Home for Freedom. Every dollar you donate goes toward our services for our veterans. We are your neighbors, friends, moms, dads, sons, and daughters, all with a passion for Home for Freedom’s mission. That mission is to restore what is lost for veterans and their loved ones, however we can.
Home for Freedom wants to make a difference, and we believe we can. Men and women of our American Armed Forces, you are not forgotten. We will not forget your sacrifice, nor will we allow others to forget. Freedom isn’t free. It has been, and continues to be fought for by our veterans, whose strength and honor is something to be respected, and who are worthy of a life of dignity.
First and foremost, when you meet me or anyone on our team, you can see and feel the compassion that we have for our country and our Veterans. We want our passion to be so infectious that it is contagious!
We want to restore that Pauper Cemetery where many homeless Veterans are laid to rest and give them the dignity they deserve. We would like to place all approved grave markers, landscaping, a memorial wall, new fencing, and an entrance gate to help provide respect and appreciation for those military Veterans.
Our plan is to do things such as home restoration, repairs, and building. Imagine coming home, possibly disabled, to a home that is no longer a safe place to live. We will help our Veterans find jobs. Someone who has fought for our freedom should never come home and no longer have a paycheck. We want to create a community where a Veteran never has to choose between groceries and proper medical care, especially for injuries received while protecting our country.
We support and honor our Veterans, both living and those who gave their lives. We believe freedom is not free, and because of their sacrifice, our men and women in Armed Forces should be taken care of in every aspect when they return home.
While we are celebrating our freedoms, we are going to find Veterans’ needs and meet their needs, whether it’s a home, home repair, service dog, medical attention, or groceries.
GOD BLESS AMERICA, LAND THAT WE LOVE!
“This will remain the land of the free so long as it is the home of the brave.”
