Who We Are
We exist to support and honor our veterans, both living and those who gave their lives.
We exist to support and honor our veterans—both those who are living and those who gave their lives in service to our country. We believe freedom is not free, and because of that sacrifice, our men and women in uniform deserve to be cared for in every way when they return home.
Home for Freedom relies on generous donors and dedicated volunteers to make our work possible. Together, we serve veterans through practical, life-changing support—helping restore safety, dignity, and stability.
And for veterans experiencing homelessness, we’re building hope one step at a time through tiny homes—creating a pathway toward stable housing, independence, and a fresh start.
At Home for Freedom, honoring veterans also means remembering those we’ve lost. We care for gravesites and neglected resting places as a visible act of respect—one that can mean the world to the loved ones left behind.
Located in Wichita Falls and Sheppard Air Force Base, we see the cost of service up close and personal. Not every homecoming is joyful, as many returning veterans carry invisible wounds and effects of war. Some families pay the ultimate price and will spend their lifetime grieving the loss of their loved one.
We’ve witnessed the tears, the fear, and the heartbreak. Veterans and their families: Home for Freedom is there to encourage and support our country’s amazing veterans!
Home for Freedom is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization created for our veterans, and run by people whose hearts are extremely grateful for their sacrifice. We are members of the Wichita Falls community, volunteering our time for this important service. We do not receive a paycheck for our work at Home for Freedom. Every dollar you donate goes toward our services for our veterans. We are your neighbors, friends, moms, dads, sons, and daughters, all with a passion for Home for Freedom’s mission. That mission is to restore what is lost for veterans and their loved ones, however we can.
Home for Freedom wants to make a difference, and we believe we can. Men and women of our American Armed Forces, you are not forgotten. We will not forget your sacrifice, nor will we allow others to forget. Freedom isn’t free. It has been, and continues to be fought for by our veterans, whose strength and honor is something to be respected, and who are worthy of a life of dignity.
When you meet our team, you’ll feel it immediately—deep respect for our country and unwavering compassion for our veterans. That passion drives everything we do.
We are working to restore the Pauper Cemetery, where many homeless veterans are laid to rest, and give them the dignity they deserve. Our vision includes approved grave markers, landscaping, a memorial wall, new fencing, and a proper entrance gate—so these heroes are honored the way they should be.
At the heart of Home for Freedom is our tiny house mission: providing stable housing and a path forward—one veteran, one house at a time.
While we enjoy the freedoms they protected, we will continue to find needs and meet them—one veteran, one family, one life at a time.
God bless America.
“This will remain the land of the free so long as it is the home of the brave.”
